The Sand Arc Villa

A Masterpiece of Organic Minimalism

This architectural design is characterized by a visual language that merges Minimalist Modernism with Organic Architecture, showcasing a clear harmony between solid masses and open spaces.

Massing & Form

The villa’s composition is based on overlapping rectangular volumes. Their rigidity is softened by longitudinal arched openings, which introduce a classical touch through a contemporary lens. The use of curved lines in entrances and large windows grants the facade vitality and mitigates the stiffness of right angles, creating a unique visual balance.

Materials & Textures

  • Natural Stone: The facades are clad in warm, sand-colored Beige Stone, anchoring the building to its environment and providing a sustainable, luxurious character.
  • Expansive Glazing: Floor-to-ceiling glass facades are utilized to seamlessly merge interior and exterior spaces, allowing for maximum natural light and panoramic views of the pool and garden.
  • Wooden Accents: Warm wooden details appear on doors and exterior ceilings, enhancing the sense of comfort and hospitality.

Landscape & Outdoor Design

  • Organic Pool: The swimming pool features a fluid, irregular shape that mimics natural lakes. It is bordered by river pebbles to add an authentic, organic texture.
  • Vegetation & Softscape: The landscape design relies on desert and native flora, such as cacti and ancient olive trees, reflecting an eco-friendly and water-efficient approach (Xeriscaping).
  • Pathways: External walkways are designed with oversized stone pavers, maintaining the “Modern” continuity of the site.

Lighting & Atmosphere

Lighting plays a pivotal role in accentuating the design aesthetics:

  • Recessed Lighting: Used to highlight the textures and features of the stone at night.
  • Warm Ambient Lighting: Employed within interior spaces to reflect a cozy, domestic intimacy during sunset and evening hours.
